Vision
Sandy Springs Together creates a culture of respect and inclusiveness among all residents of Sandy Springs. We offer opportunities to educate, to engage, to empower and to hold ourselves and others accountable on issues of racial and social equity, including racial justice. The initial effort focuses on housing affordability for all residents in Sandy Springs since it is fundamental to almost all other areas of racial inequity.
Mission
Sandy Springs Together, along with other community leaders, implement a city-wide community education effort, focused on the importance of racial and social equity and how these principles relate to housing for all income levels and the preservation of existing apartment communities. This effort includes strong representation of residents of apartment neighborhoods along with single-family residential communities, businesses, faith and civic organizations and government.
Through this city-wide education process, all members of the community are heard, a broader understanding is achieved and concrete actions are taken to support racial equity and racial justice in all its forms. Together with the city, a new direction of “Addition without Subtraction” is created and sustained; thus, adding new mixed-income housing without demolishing existing affordable multi-family Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing (NOAH).
Values
Sandy Springs Together values all forms of diversity, including racial, cultural and economic and we support actions that demonstrate these values. We support open, respectful, transparent communication and sharing among everyone who calls Sandy Springs home.
