We are excited to launch the Sandy Springs Together website and to begin working with you to build a better, stronger and more inclusive community.
In this section, you will find the most-up-to-date news and information about changes coming to our community. You will also find ways to impact that change in ways that benefit everyone.
We welcome safe, walkable neighborhoods, with affordable housing options for everyone. But despite the community’s entrepreneurial spirit and history of innovative thinking, we are concerned that taxpayers will be on the hook for plans that benefit the privileged few while forcing thousands of our neighbors to move away.
Our attention and focus will be to educate residents of Sandy Springs about ways to work together to be sure no one is displaced or left behind.
We also believe that everyone deserves a voice. As taxpayers are asked to invest in plans that will shape the future of Sandy Springs, it’s important that everyone should have the opportunity to learn about the alternatives and to have their voices heard.
It’s essential that people and communities who will be the most impacted by the city’s planning decisions have a voice in the process. We are committed to bringing these people and communities together to speak out about the impact of development.
We also know that there is a better way.
The members of the North End Revitalization Task Force who stand to profit from tearing down existing apartments and rebuilding lower-density, less affordable housing have put forward a plan that will use taxpayer money to benefit them.
But if more voices are involved, there is a unique opportunity as a city to lead the way by finding solutions to a complex issue facing most cities in America.
Please join us as we build a stronger community and a better future for Sandy Springs.
